Zinen Plotten Annen Kratten
Thursday, June 10, 5-8 p.m. in ZAPP
Warning: Annen Kratten have overtaken the arts. Our reports indicate they have set up base in the Zine Archive and Publishing Project at Seattle’s literary nonprofit, Richard Hugo House, enlisting Kamili Germany, ZAPP intern, to help with manufacturing.
One can investigate the results of this human-machine mind meld on Thursday, June 10, 5-8 p.m. at ZAPP as part of Blitz Capitol Hill Arts Walk. On display there will be a variety of interactive installation art pieces for people to play with, taking the form of cardboard robots, a geodesic dome and a hands-on art-building station.
The Robots left a hand-transcribed message of intent. The declaration reads:
"Children and Adults: prepare for your demise! We are Annen Kratten and have assembled ourselves from tape and cardboard in order to destroy the power hierarchy of Adult and Child. No longer will the process of Children becoming Adults exist. We enlisted one of your creative beings to endlessly manufacture us and have enhanced her ability to give abstract forms three dimensional shape; something your people have long struggled to do. Your weapons are useless against us. Our power source, you ask? We are indefinitely powered by the zine plot—proof that work and play can be one; we invoke your power to help rid the world of both the “Child” and the “Adult,” leaving only the creatively empowered individual. Oh! Glorious apocalypse!"
Update: It was announced that Kamili Germany was declared missing as of 1400 hours. She was last seen talking to herself agitatedly about cardboard. Police have put out an APB for this woman. If you see any signs of her, contact the police A.S.A.P.
